Trading in Group 6 Metals Limited shares has resumed on the Australian Securities Exchange after the company satisfied the ASX’s conditions for reinstatement.

The suspension of the company’s securities was lifted from the commencement of trading today Thursday, July 30.

Group 6 Metals, which operates the Dolphin Tungsten Mine on King Island, had remained suspended while it worked through financial and operational matters associated with the transition to underground mining.

The shares opened at eight cents before rising sharply, trading as high as $4 and reaching $2.76 by early Thursday afternoon. The volatile opening followed a 100-for-one consolidation of the company’s shares last year.

The company, which operates the Dolphin Tungsten Mine on King Island, had been suspended from quotation since September 27, 2024.

The suspension was requested by Group 6 Metals while it pursued a potential transaction connected with the recapitalisation of the company.

The company completed a 100-for-one consolidation of its securities last year. Its previous quoted price of 2.5 cents was therefore equivalent to $2.50 on a post-consolidation basis, making percentage comparisons shown by some market services potentially misleading.

The reinstatement allows investors to again buy and sell Group 6 Metals shares under the ASX code G6M.

In social media posts after G6M resumed trading, Resources Minister Felix Ellis said Tasmania’s $10 million equity investment was worth “many, many millions more”, while the Tasmanian Liberals valued the holding at more than $70 million.
