KI District High closed on Wednesday

King Island District High School will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday, 17 September) due to industrial action.

"It is important that schools are able to meet their duty of care to students and staff. Stop Work Action is occurring on 17 September for Education Facility Attendants, due to staff shortages the following schools will be closed for the day," the Department of Education, Children and Young People said in a statement on their website.

King Island District High School is one of 14 schools listed.

"Tomorrow’s Education Facility Attendant industrial action – which looks set to see multiple schools across Tasmania close – is the latest symptom of a decade of Government budget mismanagement and public sector neglect", Leader of the Opposition Josh Willie said.

There was no comment issued by Education Minister, Jo Palmer.
