Roger Jaensch moves back to the frontbench
Roger Janesch has been moved back to the frontbench following Jane Howlett’s resignation from the Rockliff cabinet.
Ms Howlett moved to the backbench following pressure over her $405,000 legal bill.
Mr Janesch will take on the Tourism, Hospitality and Events; Racing; Minister for Community and Multicultural Affairs; and Arts portfolios.
He has not held a ministerial role since the last state election.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff said Mr Janesch has been a strong advocate for the people of Braddon over the past year.
“Roger is a calm and considered voice, bringing significant experience to the portfolios,” Premier Rockliff said.
“Our Government’s significant efforts to grow Tasmania’s tourism, hospitality, arts and events industry will continue under Roger’s leadership, as well as the racing portfolio.
“Roger will strengthen multicultural engagement and foster inclusive, connected communities across Tasmania.”
