Man charged over damage to Tynwald park
A 20-year-old Bridgewater man has been charged with multiple offences, including damage to Tynwald Park Oval in New Norfolk last weekend.
Detectives from Bridgewater Police arrested the man on Tuesday, and he has been detained to appear in court on the following charges:
- 23 counts of breach of bail conditions
- 9 counts of driving while disqualified
- 3 counts of “operate vehicle in public place in an unnecessary execution of speed, acceleration or loss of traction”
- 3 counts of motor vehicle stealing
- 1 count of attempted motor vehicle stealing
- 2 counts of using a hand-held mobile phone
- 1 count of destroying property
- 1 count of computer-related fraud
- 2 counts of unlawful possession of property
- 2 counts of evading police in aggravated circumstances
- 4 counts of burglary.
- 1 count of aggravated burglary
- 6 counts of stealing
The arrest comes after surveillance footage showed a white Ford Courier utility which was stolen from West Moonah at the scene of the crimes early on Sunday morning.
The vehicle was found burnt out early yesterday morning.
Tasmania Police have thanked the public for the information received regarding the incidents in New Norfolk.
