Kate Bucknell announced as new Rural Youth CEO
Kate Bucknell is the new Rural Youth Tasmania CEO.
She has previously served as the Business & Partnerships Manager at JCP Youth and as the inaugural General Manager of Hotel Verge Launceston.
Rural Youth Tasmania said Ms Bucknell had an impressive track record working with young people, which - coupled with her extensive background in tourism and hospitality - made her an ideal candidate for the CEO role, and that she possesses strong credentials in strategic leadership, community engagement, service expansion and commercial acumen.
Ms Bucknell said she was honoured to be appointed to the role.
This organisation plays a vital role in nurturing, empowering and advocating for young people across the state, and I’m excited to build on its proud legacy,” she said.
“I look forward to working closely with our staff, members and partners to continue creating opportunities and making a positive impact in rural and regional communities.
“It’s a privilege to be part of such a passionate and dedicated team, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Rural Youth Tasmania State President Amber Bramich said she was excited to welcome Ms Bucknell to the organisation.
“Her passion, energy and vision align perfectly with our goals for Rural Youth Tasmania,” Ms Bramich said.
“We look forward to working alongside Kate as we continue to support, inspire and empower young people across the state.”
Ms Bucknell starts her role on May 4 and replaces outgoing CEO Karen Robinson.
