Works begin to strengthen riverbank on Boyer Road
Works to strengthen the riverbank on Boyer Road at Derbyshire Cliffs below Pulpit Rock lookout in New Norfolk have begun.
The work will continue until Wednesday, March 19 2026.
Boyer Road will be reduced to a single lane of traffic, with traffic controllers in place during construction hours and timed traffic lights/signals outside of working hours.
Strengthening work is needed to improve the long-term durability of the road following flooding in 2024, which also caused more serious damage to the Lyell Highway at Plenty.
Roadwork crews will work between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and occasionally on Saturdays.
General-access heavy vehicles and restricted-access vehicles that do not exceed 3 metres in width can continue to travel through the site.
All other heavy vehicles will need to find an alternate route.
