Campbell Town’s Historic St Andrew’s Church has opened its doors after being closed for 25 years.

The cherished landmark has been revitalised by owners Nicole and Garry Graham, who have proudly flicked the switch on reconnected power and lit up the 1857 sandstone building which once again glows at night.

The Grahams, who moved to Tasmania from New South Wales more than a decade ago, say the reopening marks the end of an incredibly long, emotional and challenging journey.

“We’ve been through it all - including a cancer battle, development delays, and more hurdles than we ever imagined,” Nicole said.

“But to finally open this Tasmanian treasure to the public is beyond exciting. It’s everything we’ve worked towards.”

Built in 1857 for local Scottish immigrants, the sandstone church has been lovingly restored while honouring its heritage roots.

With silverware, candelabras, tartan, and a deep nod to Scottish heritage and local history, the interior is like nothing else in Tasmania - rich, atmospheric and utterly unique offering a warm, character-filled space where guests feel as if they’ve stepped back in time.

The Church will proudly host its first wedding this Friday, with bookings for weddings, meetings, picnics and group visits “already going crazy”.

“We’re blown away by the response,” Nicole said.

“It confirms what we believed from day one — that Tasmania was ready for a truly unique, heritage-rich venue like this.”

Since purchasing the property, the owners have undertaken extensive environmental work, including:

• Planting more than 1,000 trees, roses and plants
• Establishing free-range onsite chickens
• Large composting systems
• Growing their own herbs, fruit and vegetables
• Prioritising Tasmanian produce across all catering and grazing offerings
