Party in the Paddock kicks off tomorrow at Quercus Park, with motorists travelling through the Northern Midlands warned to expect traffic delays.

Ocean Alley, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and The Veronicas are some of the big names performing at the four-day festival.

The event will be taking place at Quercus Park, the home of Agfest and where Rural Youth’s new $1 million headquarters are.

Police urged festival-goers to have fun and stay safe.

“To ensure everyone has a safe environment to enjoy the Party in the Paddock festival, there’ll be a high police presence on site for the duration of the event,” Inspector Craig Fox said.

“This is a family-friendly event, and we want everyone to have an enjoyable and safe festival.

“For anyone consuming alcohol, please do so responsibly, look after your mates, and be respectful of others.”

Inspector Fox said police would be conducting traffic management and road safety operations around the festival area.

“Police will again be conducting traffic management to and from the festival site and ask motorists to be patient, particularly if traffic is congested.

“At the conclusion of the festival, police will conduct a large-scale random breath testing operation for motorists leaving the site.

“Our aim is to get everyone home safely, and that includes testing drivers and removing those affected by alcohol and drugs from the roads.”
