NEW River Angus is a family-run Angus operation based in the hills of Ringarooma, north-east Tasmania.

At New River Angus, we believe strong females are the backbone of any successful breeding program. Maternal strength plays an important role in our breeding decisions, alongside our commitment to producing sustainable, high-quality cattle that perform efficiently in practical farming conditions.

While it may not be directly stud-related, we’re also big believers in involving the next generation wherever possible.

These values shape everything we do and are a big part of why we place such a strong emphasis on docility, breeding quiet, easy-to-handle cattle that allow the next generations to be safely and confidently involved in what we do.

Our focus is simple: breeding sound, functional cattle that our clients can trust to get the job done.

We believe in crawling before we walk, getting the fundamentals right first. Structure, docility and type are at the forefront of our breeding decisions, with the aim of producing commercially relevant, sound, functional cattle that are easy to handle, easy-doing and built to go the distance.

We understand that for a commercial producer, a bull needs to do more than look good on sale day.

He needs to get cows in calf, hold up under commercial conditions and leave progeny that add value to the herd.

There are no shortcuts in what we do, just steady, consistent progress and bulls bred with purpose.

On September 18 at the TLX Powranna Sale Yards at 3pm, New River Angus will offer 11 18-month-old bulls and 10 yearling bulls.

This carefully selected draft represents everything we strive to produce.

The offering features progeny by several exciting sires, including Gillmandyke Prime Minister T171 (EUD22T171), Landfall Lorenzo S1704 (TFA21S1704) and Millah Murrah Trigger T308 (NMM22T308). We are particularly excited to offer the first sons of Millah Murrah Trigger T308 to be sold in Tasmania.

We also invite you to our Open Day on September 11, from 10 am to 4 pm, at 1140 New River Rd, Ringarooma.
