A birds-eye view of New Norfolk

New Norfolk has been named among the country's top 100 places tipped for a real estate "boom" in 2026 and beyond.

Realestate.com.au recently revealed its "Hot 100" suburbs across Australia that are expected to outperform others.

The list is based on affordability, amenity, family appeal, location, investment projects, gentrification, population growth, demographic change, and infrastructure.

Compiled by a panel of industry experts, the 100 suburbs in this year’s list are expected to have property prices outperform the broader market.

The panel said that New Norfolk made the list due to its median house prices - which create great entry-level opportunities - along with its riverside setting, heritage charm, improved culinary, distillery, and brewery offerings, and general access to the natural attractions of the Derwent Valley.

“It’s fantastic to see New Norfolk celebrated for its lifestyle, community spirit, and the value people find in making a home here,” Derwent Valley Mayor Michelle Dracoulis said.

“We know this is a special place - now the rest of Australia is catching on.”

Other suburbs in Tasmania that made the "hot 100" were Acton, Battery Point, Brighton, Invermay, Kingston, Legana, and Sorell.
