Candidates for King Island and Tasman Council vacancies

Eight candidates will vie for the final spot on the Tasman Council, while on King Island, three people will tussle for two vacancies.

The Tasmanian Electoral Commission extended nominations for both councils after not enough candidates put their hand up in the two municipalities to contest the upcoming local government elections.

The six Tasman Council candidates and five from King Island who initially nominated have been automatically elected to their respective councils.

Graeme Bradfield, Mark Dobson, Myles Dunbabin Fazackerly,  Alan John Hull, Vince Isbister, Rob Larkins, Keita Messenger and Kelly Charles Proposch are vying for the final spot on the Tasman Council.

Meanwhile, over on King Island, Lara Aylward, Andrea Bowden and Saverina Stella will fight it out for the two remaining councillor positions.

Candidate statements will be published online on October 2, ahead of the distribution of postal ballot packs from October 5.
