Dean Winter’s chances to become Premier have been dealt a final blow after the Greens said it would not support Labor's foreshadowed no-confidence motion when parliament resumes tomorrow.

Dr Woodruff said Labor’s inflexibility during negotiations with her party was behind the decision.

“If Dean Winter does move the motion that he’s foreshadowed in parliament tomorrow, a motion of no confidence in the Liberal government and a motion of confidence in himself, then the Greens will be voting against that motion,” she said.

“I have rung the leader of the Labor Party, Dean Winter, just then, to let him know what our position will be.

Dr Woodruff said the party had made it clear to Mr Winter that “business as usual doesn’t cut it.

“We have worked to get compromises and to negotiate, to get some changes on the issues that we promised people we would stand up for.

“Dean Winter has refused to budge.”

As it stands, Labor does not have enough votes on the floor of parliament to form government.

Even if the entire crossbench supports its no-confidence motion, the party will only reach 16 of the required 18 votes it needs.
