Massive tally for Agfest Day 1

Spectacular autumn weather provided a brilliant backdrop for Day 1 of Agfest 2025, with 14,637 people enjoying the best in agricultural machinery and innovation, food, and entertainment in addition to picking up great bargains.
Agfest patron, Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC, Governor of Tasmania, officially opened the event, highlighting Agfest’s positive impact on the agricultural sector and community at large.
The Premier, Jeremy Rockliff, acknowledged the dedication of the many Rural Youth volunteers, (average age of 21) thanking them for their ongoing dedication and efforts.
A highlight was the appearance of Bluey and Bingo, who stole the show and won the hearts of countless children. They will be back tomorrow with shows at 11.30am and 1.30pm.
William Adams marketing manager Glen Slocombe, who have been Agfest exhibitors since 1983, and are celebrating 100 years of CAT at this year’s event, said “we keep coming back to Agfest because it is a great opportunity to showcase our latest machinery and connect with our customers”.
Agfest Chair Dylan Bellchambers welcomed all present, expressing great pride in the event and the team behind it, thanking sponsors, exhibitors and patrons for making it such a great event.
He also acknowledged the impact being a part of Agfest over the past seven years has had on his life, providing unforgettable experiences, developing new skills and friendships which will last a lifetime.
Agfest continus tomorrow – don’t forget to wear your gumboots and even better, if you decorate them tonight you can go to Central Arena at 10.30am, join in the gumboot parade, and you may win Woolworths vouchers.
At the Tas Country tent, 8am and 3pm are the target times if you want to grab a free beanie and meet the team.
