A free, online tool is helping Tasmanians take the guesswork out of home electrification, uncovering how much they could save by investing in new technologies like solar, batteries, heating, and induction cooktops.
Aurora Energy has partnered with BOOM!Power to provide a quick and easy tool that gives homeowners personalised advice about upgrading their old appliances to modern and energy-efficient alternatives.
By answering just a few simple questions on an online form, the Home Electrification Tool estimates the potential monthly and annual savings people can make from carrying out electrification upgrades to their home.
The tool provides an estimated cost of making each upgrade and can connect users with trusted installers if they decide to proceed.
Users who want to proceed with obtaining a quote from any of the suggested providers and installers can view the product models and warranties recommended for purchase, before contacting them.
Aurora Energy Chief Customer Officer, Will Barbour said the tool is particularly useful for Tasmanians who are keen to achieve the benefits of electrification but are not sure where to start.
"It's there to help Tasmanians make confident and informed decision about their energy future," Barbour said.
"Users of the free Home Electrification Tool are in control of the whole process – there are no lock-in fees or costs."
For a limited time, Aurora Energy customers who complete their project using the Home Electrification Tool will also go in the draw to win up to $5,000 towards their project.
"It's a great time to make your home more energy efficient," Barbour said.
"Whether you're considering solar, battery storage, an electric hot water system, heating and cooling upgrades, or other energy efficient improvements, Aurora Energy can help you explore your options and take the next step with confidence."
Aurora Energy's Home Electrification Tool is a feature of the Generation You information hub on its website, which offers practical advice and resources to help Tasmanians manage their electricity use and save money.
