There isn't any need to change the laws, there are suitable laws already in place that should have been acted on.
Why should law abiding firearms owners be penalised for the Governments failures the Government should be penalised and held fully responsible for what happened at Bondi.
And the caps on firearms will achieve nothing and placing lever/ button release as well as pump action/ straight pull firearms into cat C will only achieve one thing and that is the increase in feral animals that are greatly impacting farming enterprises.
