Bailey Withers with his dad Luke and a big Southern Calamari Squid Bailey caught last weekend during the opening of the Squid season /Southern zone.

The South East Squid spawning closure zone reopened last weekend, with recreational anglers reporting some great catches of Calamari in what were excellent fishing conditions.

Bag limits for squid are 10, with a total possession limit of 20.

The 2025 Tasmanian Whitebait fishing season also finished on November 11 and most would again say it was another disappointing run this year.

Weather conditions that suit whitebait runs were impacted, and we all know how unpredictable and uncontrollable our weather can be.

Movember is the leading charity changing men's health on a global scale, specifically focusing on suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Growing a Mo is the symbol of the cause, and since 2003, over 1300 projects have been set up to raise money for men's mental health awareness.

One close to home bases around our iconic Tasmanian Devil Lures.

Every year, the Tasmanian team produces a new lure, with all sales going to charity.

This year's Tasmanian Devil Lure is now available for purchase.

Everyone we know has been affected in some shape, way or form when it comes to mental health, and the team tackling men's health - Tasmanian Devil Lures and Spot On-The Fishing Connection - have again selflessly come together to show their support.

It's well proven that time spent outdoors does wonders for the mind, body, and soul, and one of the better ways to do so is to be in nature, such as while fishing.

Ask any serious angler why they like to go fishing, and they'll say it's not just about the thrill of chasing and catching fish, but more about the benefits of being outside in nature, which in turn calms and clears the mind.

The new limited edition Tasmanian Devil lure is available online and from Spot On-The Fishing Connection and Tamar Marine.

It’s already a proven catcher with the colour scheme of black/gold and yellow, one that all trout can't resist.

All lure sales go to funding new men's mental health projects as well as targeting suicide prevention, prostate and testicular cancer prevention.

The Anglers Alliance Tasmania has added a new webcam at Lake Sorell.

The camera went live over the weekend, bringing its total to 11 other cameras at popular waters around the State.

The free-to-access webcam network allows anglers and travellers to check weather and lake conditions before they head out.

Around 57,000 visitors viewed the camera network pages over 451,000 times during the last 12 months that they've been up and running.

The webcam network is designed and built by the AAT team, which also provides free access to it.

Tip Of The Week- The IFS stocked Penstock Lagoon with 10,000 triploid rainbow trout weighing 1 gram recently and the Inglis River also received 7000 fish of the same size.
