Logan farm at Evandale sells for a report $35m
An American-backed farming venture has purchased a Northern Midlands dairy farm for a reported $35 million.
Logan, located in Evandale and covering 2683 ha, was listed for sale by the Peltzer family in August 2024.
The farm has been bought by 40 South Dairies, a partnership between the Laguna Bay investment group and Tasmanian dairy farmers the Ker family.
40 South Dairies currently operates a 14,000-dairy-cow operation in the northwest of Tasmania.
The operation has 14 dairies and two large dairy-grazing blocks.
Logan has been in the Peltzer family for more than 70 years, and since its establishment in the early 1800s, the property has had only three owners.
The Peltzers used the property for their high-performance composite prime lamb flock, supported by 602ha of centre pivot irrigation, large catchment dams (2200ML capacity) and an additional 600ML water licence.
Agribusiness advisory firm LAWD said Logan was a “multi-enterprise opportunity suited to a broad spectrum of agricultural pursuits including intensive cropping, horticulture, grazing and dairying”.
