New leadership team for TasFarmers
Nathan Cox has been elected as the new President of TasFarmers at today's Annual General Meeting.
Mr Cox said the organisation would build on being a leading voice and maintaining a laser-sharp focus on delivering outcomes for farmers.
“We’ve got a job to do, and we’re getting on with it,” Mr Cox said.
“Members expect strong representation, and that’s exactly what we intend to deliver.”
New Vice President, Felicity Richards, said that the strength of the new leadership was balance.
“We bring practical farming experience together with policy and advocacy capability. That’s a win for members", she said.
“Our job is to make sure farmers see value, not just in words, but in results."
Mr Cox also acknowledged the contribution of outgoing President Ian, describing his tenure as marked by strategic focus and strong leadership.
“We will miss Ian. His presence around the board table and his strategic thinking set a high bar,” said Mr Cox.
“He gave a great deal to the role and to the organisation.”
Mr Cox said the new board would prioritise practical outcomes, reducing regulatory burden, and ensuring farmers’ voices are heard in policy decisions that affect their businesses
