Potato growers from across North East Tasmania gathered at Scottsdale recently for an informative and engaging evening hosted by Muirs, highlighting both innovation in agriculture and the power of strong local support.

The grower information night brought together producers keen to stay ahead of the curve, offering practical insights, industry updates, and the opportunity to connect directly with Muirs’ local team.

At the centre of the evening was the introduction of a dedicated group of professionals committed to supporting the region: Shaun Krushka, Grant Haywood, Susan Nichols, and Auri Lee.

Ms Nichols recently returned as the first full-time agronomist based in the district for a long time.

With deep roots in Tasmanian agriculture, the team’s combined experience spans agronomy, crop protection, and customer service, ensuring growers have access to knowledgeable, on-the-ground advice.

Attendees appreciated not only the technical expertise shared throughout the sessions but also the approachable, solutions-focused mindset of the Muirs representatives.

Beyond the presentations, the evening provided valuable networking opportunities, allowing growers to share experiences, challenges, and ideas in an open and collaborative environment.

“The strong attendance reflected the region’s commitment to continuous improvement and the importance of staying connected in an evolving industry,” Ms Nichols said.

“We wanted to demonstrate ongoing support for Tasmanian growers, ensuring they have access to both cutting-edge solutions and trusted advice close to home.”
