Landcare hands out grants to 23 projects
A total of 23 projects have been given funding as part of a Landcare grant program.
Primary Industries Minister Gavin Pearce said the government was backing landholders to protect and improve natural assets on their property through the funding it provided for the Landcare Action Grants program.
“The Landcare Action Grants program supports the joint goal of enhancing agricultural practices and conservation activities,” Minister Pearce said.
“The 23 successful projects for this round range from fencing off waterways and native bush, to creek restoration, to planting to rehabilitate threatened vegetation.
“We know that improving land management is key to increasing farm resilience, and this will serve as an important part of our goal to sustainably grow the annual farm gate value of agriculture to $10 billion by 2050.”
The total of the 23 grants added up to $340,000, with funding for individual products ranging from $2605 to $40,000.
