Mr Calman article in tas country some weeks ago in regards to the deregulation of deer and the publishing of false deer numbers and absurd unfounded economic losses to farmers shows his comments are only to support his agenda, licensed hunters are controlling deer and game numbers on many properties under management base plans now and they can cull deer all year round under the current implemented permit system . Many hunters don’t have access to properties and a lot that do are charged a property fee on top of the considerable cost of ammunition , fuel in controlling their game, ironically here lies a problem and is never mentioned , deregulation will only penalise the hunters that have enjoyed the traditional 5 week regulated season and do nothing for the continued control of game on properties
