THIS year Guilford will again be using the Helmsman sale system, allowing buyers the opportunity to purchase lots in their order of preference regardless of catalogue order.

The sale will again be interfaced with AuctionsPlus, giving buyers who are unable to attend on sale day another option to bid and secure the bulls they require.

We welcome pre-sale inspections by appointment at a mutually agreeable time.

All bulls have been reserved for the on-property sale, with bulls available to suit all breeding programs. There are some very high performancebulls, along with a good selection of lower birth weight bulls suitable for heifers. The bulls offered this year are a very even line, with depth of quality and performance running right through the catalogue, combined with strong performance EBVs to match.

Bulls on offer this year include sons of Cascade Romeo R044, who was purchased for the second top price of $42,000 at the Cascade bull sale in 2022. He is an easy doing, long, thick, deep-bodied bull who is passing these traits on to his progeny.

Ennerdale Calypso was purchased for the top price of $26,000 at the Ennerdale bull sale in 2022. He is a long-bodied bull with excellent growth and thickness and has produced a very good line of calves.

Guilford Sovereign S012 is a son of Yavenvale Powerhouse that we retained and used as a yearling. Sovereign is dark coated and long, siring calves with excellent growth and thickness. His first drop of heifers are outstanding.

Also this year we have sons of the $160,000 sire Injemira Robert Redford Q287, whose progeny add another sire line to the catalogue, combining thickness, performance and strong carcase quality while offering low birth weight figures ideal for heifers.

Other sires represented in the sale include Bowen Qwade Q064, a deep-bodied, easy doing bull with good length and thickness.  Guilford Petroleum P24, sired by Allendale Anzac E114, is breeding exceptionally well, siring thick, deep-bodied calves with good length and excellent doing ability. His progeny have excellent growth, milk, good EMA and highly positive rib and rump fat and IMF% EBVs.

Mawarra Star Attraction P033, purchased at the Wodonga Hereford sale in 2020, is a powerful, thick, deep-bodied bull. He has excellent EBVs for growth, milk and IMF.

Other sires represented in the sale include Guilford Stockman S077 our top priced bull from 2023 which we used AI, and Guilford Topaz T007 a very good son we retained by Churchill Broadway.

All guilford bulls have been genomic tested.   The genomic information from this testing is used to enhance EBV data and accuracy, verify sire, identify bulls that are homozygous poll, and test for any carriers of genetic diseases, and also tested negative for Pestivirus (BVDV).  As well as being scanned and performance recorded with Hereford Breedplan, the sale bulls have also been semen and morphology tested. A number of clients are achieving excellent results by cross breeding Guilford Poll Hereford bulls over Angus cows.  Crossbreeding Hereford bulls over Angus cows (producing Black Baldies) maximises heterosis, resulting in increased weaning weights, superior feed efficiency, and greater hardiness, leading to increased fertility, longevity, and higher-value, fast-growing calves.

The five stud heifers are a very good group, with excellent growth for age, and offer an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking registered females.

An online catalogue, along with photos and videos of all bulls and heifers, is available at www.guilford.com.au and through AuctionsPlus.

For enquiries about the sale or inspections, please phone Philip Davie on 0427 871 444.
