LEITH 240266 was selected from SuperWhite studs around Australia to be included in the 2026 drop SuperWhite Team.

Each year a small group of elite rams are selected to be used across member flocks.

He is in the top five per cent of terminal rams for lambing ease, post weaning growth and muscle and terminal indexes.

He is positive for fat so is an easy doing animal with good structure. 266 now has 247 progeny in seven flocks, with good reports coming back from other studs on his progeny and their performance.

He was used as a ram lamb in the Leith flock, so will have progeny available at our next sale.

Leith 240244 is a half brother with similar attributes, he will also have progeny available to purchase.

His post weaning eye muscle depth measures at 7.48 and is the second highest in Australia on Lambplan’s terminal sire list.

He is also high for growth and is high up on the sires Terminal Carcase Production index,(TCP index) being eighth for Australia.

These rams are both sons of Leith 210887 who now has 847 progeny in 17 flocks and has progeny sell to $19 000.

Another SuperWhite sire with progeny in the sale is Leith 230101, he is currently fourth highest sire in Australia for the TCP index.

Sons have recently been prominent in a number of SuperWhite studs at the start of their sales.

He has also had sons retained for in flock use and has sired embryos sent to the Falkland Islands.

Our aim is to breed rams to maximise productive traits like growth and muscle, while maintaining downward pressure on birth weight.

This maximises both lamb survival and value per head and therefore profit.

The rams are run in large mobs under competitive intensive commercial conditions and are expected to perform under such conditions, with a high emphasis on performance at the age when lambs are normally sold.

This leads to Leith rams having lambs born more easily, grow faster, have more muscle and fat with better eating qualities than average.

Leith’s annual on property sale will be on February 12, 2027 at Leith Westbury with 170 rams on offer by Leith sires as well as a number of AI sires.
