Royal Flying Doctor Service charity golf day a hit

Every time someone pays a green fee at the Longford Golf Club this year, they are supporting health care on the ground and in the air across Tasmania.

For generations, the Club has looked after the region through sport, connection, and community.

In 2026, it is expanding that reach beyond the fairways with $1 from every green fee going to the Royal Flying Doctor Service Tasmania.

Last week it doubled down on its support by donating funds raised from its Charity Day to the RFDS.

A strong field of 65 hit off in the Canadian Foursomes competition, a raffle and trade table also raised some extra dollars to bring the total to $3126.

Corey Martin from RFDS Tasmania thanked the club and the community for its ongoing support.

He said every donation helped RFDS reach places that would otherwise face barriers to accessing health care.

RFDS offers services in dental, physical and mental health for adults and young people as well as nicotine management and school health programs.
