New Campdrafting Tasmania season to begin in November
Saturday 22nd August saw Campdrafters from around the State gathered at Campbelltown for the annual general meeting of Campdrafting Tasmania on August 22 with the main aim of electing a new executive committee and planning the season ahead.
Georgie Burbury of Campbell Town is the new president with former president Roderick Le Fevre from Elderslie taking the first vice president role and Frank Archer from Cressy will be second vice president.
It was straight down to business with the season opener approved as a Come and Try Day schedule for November 7 to be followed by the first official campdraft event the following day on November 8.
Further competitions will be held at Powranna on November 21, Hamilton Showgrounds on December 5, Powranna on January 9 and 23, also February 12, 13 and 14, Hamilton on February 27 and March 13, then Powranna on March 21.
Hamilton will host the finals on April 10 and 11, 2027.
Thanks to a grant organised by the Hamilton Show Committee the club will this season have the use of a new set of horse yards which makes attending events more accessible and safer.
Membership fees remain the same as last season.
